Orlando Is Now A Favorite Golf Destination!
Walt Disney's dream of a world of fantasy has come true
in Orlando. Where once there was only the Magic Kingdom®
Park, the Walt Disney World® Resort is now made up of
multiple parks and caters to everyone from families to seniors
to singles golf groups. But that's just the beginning! Although
Walt Disney World® Resort is the main attraction in Central
Florida, an explosion of challenging yet playable golf courses
has resulted in Orlando becoming one of the most popular Florida
golf vacation spots in the US.
There are over 25 public golf courses, 7 enormous
theme parks, 2 nighttime entertainment districts, countless
smaller attractions, restaurants, and cultural activities,
including Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. This is a great
area for visitors, resulting in cost-effective combo packages
and a seemingly never-ending variety of activity and entertainment!
Family fun theme parks will blow-your-mind, there
simply isn't anything else around like Orlando. Families are
in charge and everyone else is equally treated to their choice
of first-class entertainment, day and night. Golfing is one
of the many outdoor activities to have fun. A hoppin' nightlife
highlights an endless array of attractions. If you try to
do everything in one visit, you will succeed only in exhausting
yourself, so start with what you've most wanted to do, and
then come back another time for the rest!
Visitors pour in non-stop, so there is no true "off-season"
in Orlando, but some seasons are not so crowded as others
(November). If possible, avoid holidays and big convention
dates (Spring). The busiest time is summer, when crowds of
vacationing families are packed in. The beautiful climate
in central Florida is near perfect year round, and an array
of golf courses ensure a track for all. Orlando is not just
for kids, singles, couples, but mostly the golfers have a
blast touring the sweet courses, both public and semi-private.
Walt Disney World® Resort is a city of its own,
spreading over more than 47 square miles of theme parks, theme
resorts, shops,
restaurants, and recreational facilities, and most importantly
its four beautiful golf courses. It is located in Lake
Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista is a village marketplace
owned and operated by the Walt Disney World® Resort on
the eastern edge of its property, with many independently-owned
hotels, shops, and restaurants. This is a charming neighborhood
of tidy lawns and tree-lined thoroughfares leading to Downtown
Disney®.
Other areas close to Orlando are Kissimmee which lies
south of the Walt Disney World® Resort, and is believed
to be Disney's little sister with smaller attractions like
Gatorland, smaller motels, many souvenir shops, and fast-food
restaurants galore. International Drive Area (aka I-Drive)
is a busy drive lying north of Walt Disney World® Resort
is the tourist strip of Central Florida. Bungee jumping, ice
skating, tons of theme restaurants, t-shirt shops, large hotels,
shopping centers, and the Orange County Convention Center.
Downtown Orlando is a meca which lies northeast of the
Walt Disney World® Resort. The state-of-the-art Orlando
Science Center and the Church Street Station Entertainment
Complex (party central) are not to be missed. This major tourist
city is packed with hundreds of clubs, shops, and eaterys.
We suggest you and your golfing friends make plans for a
trip to Florida for a golf weekend spent on some of the finest
golf courses that Orlando has to offer. We at Florida Golf
Course are proud to feature these fine Orlando golf courses
with our visitors.
