Naples is now a winter retreat!
Back in the early 30's, winter visitors were coming to
Naples to enjoy the sun and beaches, golfing, and
a small golf course located at the end of Fifth Avenue near
the beach. It was in 1932 that Charles "Lucky" Lindbergh
landed his plane in that area. Lindbergh and his wife, Ann,
had a retreat in Sanibel and would drop in to pick up supplies.
Ritzy Naples is located in Floridas near-tropical
southwest corner. With white beaches, ample water access,
and upscale restaurants and shops, this is an ideal place
for those seeking a splash of summer in January or for business
people in search of a hospitable setting for corporate meetings.
The citys swank shopping districts, Third Street
and Fifth Avenue, boast some of the top boutiques and specialty
shops on Floridas Gulf Coast.
Once a quiet, upscale winter retreat Naples has evolved
into a popular and well-populated year round playground with
fine golf courses, and golfing year round/ There were man
fine locations to dine and Naples offers a diversity of fine
foods from all ethnicity's.
Waterfront dining offers the best seafood Florida has
to offer. Lobster, shrimp, and the fresh catch of the
day all make for a fantastic seafood meal after a long day
of golfing. Take a trip inland and find your land lubber specialties
like steaks, Italian, and BBQ.
Naples is also host to many fine activities both indoors
and out. Naples boasts over 90 art galleries, offering
the works of local and international artists. In addition
to the galleries, a must-see is the $17.1 million world-class
Philharmonic Center for the Arts and the recently opened Naples
Museum of Art. Naples Florida is also host to a number
of golf courses that are host to a number of golfing events
throughout the year. American Style Magazine named Naples
among the top 25 Arts Destinations in the United States.
For art of a different kind, a trip to Naples Florida
wouldn't be complete without a stroll down the beautiful Naples
Pier. If you want to be mesmerized by nature at its most
beautiful, visit the Naples Pier at sunset for a truly spectacular
view. During the day, visitors of all ages will be amused
by playful dolphins, friendly pelicans and seemingly weightless
seabirds.
We suggest you and your golfing friends make plans for a
trip to Florida for a golf weekend spent on some of the finest
golf courses that Naples has to offer. We at Florida Golf
Course are proud to feature these fine Naples golf courses
with our visitors.
