The design philosophy at TWD is simple, with thier aim to
further elevate the standards of golf course design and create
enjoyable, challenging courses worldwide. Tiger's main
desire is to apply his first-hand knowledge and personal experience
to the design of each course.
Woods, who will be chairman of the firm, says the courses
will appeal to a range of golfers from the professional to
the weekend warrior and mentioned North America, Europe, Australia
and Asia as possible sites. Tiger Woods Design plans to share
the Chairman's wide array of experiences with every skill
level of golfer.
Preserving the existing natural environment is another
of Tiger Woods Design's core values. To help achieve this
goal, TWD plans to contract experts from around the world
who are dedicated to environmental preservation.
Woods decided to move forward with forming Tiger Woods Design
in 2005
as he approached his 10th year playing professional golf on
the PGA TOUR. Before moving forward with Tiger Woods Design,
Woods sought the advice of friends and experts in the industry.

Al Ruwaya - will stretch a whopping 7,700 yards from
the tips. The course will include dramatic elevation changes,
lush landscaping and various water features.
The Al Ruwaya golf community is scheduled for completion
in late 2009. It will occupy over an area of 25.3 million
square feet at Dubailand, the regions largest tourism
and leisure project along Emirates Road, an outer bypass in
Dubai.
Tiger Said "I am excited about the challenge of transforming
a desert terrain into a world-class golf course, I
have a vision of creating something that is uniquely mine
from the detailed layout of each hole to the Mediterranean
architecture to the top-line gym equipment in the clubhouse
unlike anything else. And through my partnership with
Tatweer, I want to realize this vision in Dubai.
Cliffs at High Carolina - The Cliffs Valley course,
which was designed by former CBS Corp. golf commentator Ben
Wright, is one of eight courses planned as part of the Cliffs
Communities. It's located about 10 miles west of Tigerville,
South Carolina.
Woods said he wants his initial U.S. course "to be difficult
and challenging, but fair.'' Two things it won't have are
blind shots or manmade lakes and waterfalls.
"I'm more of a minimalist,'' Woods said. "I enjoy
older- style golf courses that are right in front of you,
where they basically left the ground where it was and put
the course on top of it. I won't move a lot of dirt.''
The Cliffs, founded in 1991, features golf-course communities
between Ashville, North Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina.
Five courses, including ones designed by Tom Fazio and 18-time
major winner Jack Nicklaus, are complete. Two others are under
construction. Woods's layout will be the eighth project.
