Graphite Design Inc. (GD) was established in August of
1989 with the purpose of manufacturing the highest quality
graphite shafts within the golf industry. GDI has developed
shafts used by world's best professionals, average golfers
and unskilled beginners.
The Graphite Design International Company is located in San
Diego, CA. GDI uses over 142 different types of composite
materials to design their shafts. GDI is one of the largest
graphite golf shaft manufacturing companies in the US specializing
in high quality, unique graphite golf shafts.
In 1999, GDI began serving the Professional Golf Tours
in the US and Europe. Learning from the success GDI has
valued from the Japan Professional Golf Tour (over 85% of
all graphite shafts played on the JPGA in GDI product), GDI
has introduced the highest quality performance shafts to Professionals
worldwide.
The acceptance and performance benefits are now proven with
the PGA Tour usage of GDI YS Brand line. In 2000 on the
PGA Tour, the GDI brand product was number one in Graphite
Driver shaft wins.
The AD symbol used by Graphite Design on each shaft came
from professional players saying that "Accuracy and Distance
Shafts" are Graphite Design. From the moment they were
introduced five years ago, GDI shafts have produced winning
results for many players. Graphite Design's philosophy
is to develop new performance technologies that are tested
by professionals. The same technology is reflected in
a complete line of shafts so that all golfers at all skill
levels may be able to achieve more distance and more accuracy
with greater ease.

-
Ladies Pershing - The Pershing 45 and Pershing
55 Ladies flex is only available in pink. These ultra-light
weight shafts allow for faster clubhead speed and proper
spin rates for a slower swing speed. In addition, the
Pershing 45 Ladies flex and Pershing 55 Ladies flex both
have lower kick points which will help produce higher
launch angles. This equates to increased accuracy and
distance.
-
Mens Pershing - Designed to match the swing profiles
of a variety of players, four Pershing models (45, 55,
65, and 75) are offered in weights ranging from an ultra-light
45 grams up to 79 grams. All models feature a high balance
point for superb feel from hands through clubhead. The
Pershing line provides a perfect match for today's largest
clubheads, but the wide variety of shaft weights and two
available tip diameters make it suitable for any size
driver or fairway wood. With the combinations of low-to-mid
kick points and torque ranging from 3.0 to 6.0, there
is a Pershing shaft available for a variety of players
that will optimize proper launch angles and spin characteristics.
-
Purple Ice - Its eye-catching color and appearance
are not the only things that set this premium shaft apart.
Providing higher launch angles and greater clubhead speed
and power, Purple Ice's innovative design allows golfers
more directional control with center and off-center hits.
Common reactions to Purple Ice shafts include: "extremely
lively" and "exceptional feel."
-
YS Type II - Graphite Design International introduces
the new YS Type II Series of shafts. Designed with a higher
degree of torque than their predecessor, with a slightly
stiffer bend profile, these shafts offer players a wide
range of enhanced feel and superior performance. The YS
Type II wood shaft is available in 56 grams, 66 grams,
(± 3grams) and 76 grams(± 3grams). It is
also available in a 90 gram hybrid shaft and a 75 gram
iron shaft.
- Tour AD - The Tour AD shaft line, the ultimate
combination of GDI's innovative accuracy and distance technology,
had unparalleled success on the PGA and Japan PGA Tours
during the 2005 season. Tournament winning Tour AD shafts
are designed to suit any player's ability and are available
in three unique models, each containing the highest fiber
and lowest resin content of all the shafts in the Graphite
Design line. The high fiber content of the shaft line allows
the greatest amount of consistency to help increase control.
Its distinctive striped design defines its players from
across the course as true masters of the game.
