Cobra, Titleist, and FootJoy comprise the major golf brands of the Acushnet Company. Cobra, King Cobra and King Cobra Speed are trademarks owned by Acushnet Company. Other products include balls, apparel, and shoes, as well as products for women and kids.

Cobra-Acushnet Golf sponsors players on the PGA (Ian Poulter, Geoff Ogilvy, J.B. Holmes), European PGA, and LPGA (Jeon Jang) tours. Tom Crow former Australian Amateur Golf Champion founded Cobra Golf in 1979. In January 1996, American Brands purchased Cobra Golf Incorporated, a golf club manufacturing facility located in Carlsbad, California. Cobra Golf joined the Acushnet Company as an operating unit alongside Titleist and Foot-Joy Worldwide.

On July 21, 2000, Acushnet Company announced plans to consolidate the Cobra sales force into its Titleist U.S. sales team. The expanded Titleist U.S. sales force will increase to more than 120 representatives, the largest in the industry.

The Cobra-Acushnet Golf Company has grown into a major player on tour with revenue in the millions this year. The growth is a result of industry-leading performance products in all key divisions.

Cobra Golf's motto is "Better Clubs for Better Golfers" Cobra's strengths are among seniors, women, and high handicappers; it's soft spot is among the younger, better players. King Cobra's HS9 Driver, has placed Cobra golf on the same platform as The Big Bertha and The R7 Quad Driver.

Along with introducing new bafflers and iron sets to complete its lineup of speed series clubs, Cobra Golf in 2007 also will ramp up an emphasis on custom-fitting to help golfers match the right clubs to their particular games. Called the “Fit to Speed” system, Cobra’s fitting process is fairly simple to understand and use.

Fit to Speed sessions can be conducted by certified professionals using a Cobra Speed Monitor. The company has placed monitors at more than 2,000 locations in the U.S. and an additional 900 internationally. The process doesn’t take long and general golfers can easily see how to match their data to the recommended model of club.
